Default 93' DS running rough under heavy load

My Club Car DS is running rough when I have it loaded with 4 passangers. If its just 1 or 2 passangers it seams to run fine (maybe a little hesitation once in a while). With 4 passangers it stutters and has slow/rough acceleration. Could it be a worn belt (I know its getting old)? Any other thoughts on what to look at?

Thanks,
Tom

Viper..... Make sure your clutches contract and expand. Does the car squeel or groan under load, or is it just the lack of power and poor engine performance?

its more like a lack of power/hesitation. It will get up to speed but it takes a while....and its kind of a jerky acceleration. It more like a loss of torque.

Try this Tom...

Get yourself a can of "Seafoam Engine Treatment"...

With about a half a tank of fuel (3 Gallons) add double the amount to the fuel as specified on the can...
(I am NOT recommending to do this often!)

Remove your spark plug, and add 1 1/2 capfuls of "Seafoam" in the spark plug hole in the head...
Reinstall the spark plug, WITHOUT reinstalling the plug wire...
In maintenance mode, turn the engine over by slightly stepping on the "GO" pedal for about 5 or 10 seconds...
Wait a half an hour to let it soak in...
Reinstall the plug wire, and run it.... the exhaust will smoke quite a bit, but it'll go away!
Take it out of maintenance mode, then run the cart as you normally would,
until almost all for the fuel in the tank is gone...
(It may or may not run a little rougher then it does now... but you have to run it through!)

Then refill the fuel tank with "Premium" gas...
(just this one time... $25.00 /$30.00 of gas in the cart is kinda' hard to swallow!)

and, see if it'll run better for you!

I swear by "Seafoam"... I use it in everything!
