Default 2000 ezgo txt is fast but hot. Need help

Took a 2000 txt 36 volt stock cart. Converted it to 48 volts. Put 2 gauge wire throughout. 400amp solenoid with alltrax 500 amp controller and D&D high speed motor. I lifted the cart 6 inches and put 23 inch tiresome a back seat.

This thing is STUPID fast (30mph on flat ground) (19 mph up a steep incline). It’s too fast. I built for a friend. He wants to use it on the farm.

The motor gets really hot!!! I’m gonna program It but needed some advice. I need to slow it down to probably 20mph max but want to keep good torque. I also don’t want the motor getting so hot because his kids will burn it up, lol.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

That motor will be dead soon, no real way around it. That's what happens when you put high speed motors intended for street tire configuration on carts with big offroad sized tires.

"He wants to use it on the farm"

Might want to sell the high speed motor and get a torque motor.

Yep, someone made a big mistake when selecting a motor.

Wasn’t a mistake on the motor. I just happened to have it laying around not in use. A professional told me it might be a good combo. I will probably put the stock motor back in and tune it down to 400 amps unless he wants to buy a high torque motor. It’s just too fast for what he needs. It has enough torque. Thanks for the input
