Re: Could filters cause too much resistance?
Stick with your original thread my friend!
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...ne-engine.html *EDIT* it looks like the filter is hooked up backwards... incoming fuel (from the pump) should be going to the outside of the filter flowing through to the center of the filter to the carb. |

Re: Could filters cause too much resistance?
Problem is I'm not getting gas to the float bowl. I will double check my filter directions tonight. I would love it if it were that simple. Now you can back it out and it stalls...

I replied to your other thread of things I personally would look at for your fuel delivery problems...
But now... I'm not so sure that you have the proper fuel filter! This is what an in-line fuel filter on a golf car should look like: 040.JPG |

Re: Could filters cause too much resistance?
Bypass the filter and try if you worry about the filter. But its probably a weak fuel pump or weak pulse.

Re: Could filters cause too much resistance?
The size of the filter should not matter, the larger filter just lets a higher volume of gas pass through each second, for a larger engine's demands. That filter should work fine if it is not clogged.
It's possible there could be a large air bubble in that filter but it looks OK. The smaller filters are horizontal, also have air bubbles inside of them, but possibly pass more gas than air through them, and their volume is more matched to the output of the fuel pump. That filter is connected backwards and that can be your problem. Also, is that hose kinked at the junction to the fuel pump? |
