Sealer for seals ?
Hi Guys ! I am replacing the crank seals and honing and replacing rings in 82 columbia engine. Do I use any Loktite or sealer on the seals or push them in dry? I thought I seen where to put a little Loktite on them. Blue/Red/Green?
Thanks |

Re: Sealer for seals ?
Push them in dry. If you loktite them some poor SOB in the future will have to kill himself to get them out.
Really, it takes a pretty good bit of force to seat them in place. So long as they are placed properly they won't pop off. When placing them in, be it with a press or tapping, make sure the seals go in as parallel to the top of case as possible as to make sure the seals maintains its round shape. |
