Hei conversion question
I didn't want to crowd the hei sticky thread too much so figured I'd ask here. I noticed that the wiring diagram shows a black wire coming from the hei module to the D- terminal on the regulator. However, many of the pictures of the conversion don't show this specific wire. Is this wire a ground wire for the new hei module? The diagram shows this wire going from the module, to the regulator, then to the C terminal on the solenoid. Does it have to be wired this way, or have any of you set it up different? I am an electrical dummy...

Re: Hei conversion question
In addition, my old wiring has the black wire coming from the D- post on the regulator, to the lowest post on the f/r switch. I'm not sure how I should properly set this up. As the cart was, or how the diagram depicts?

Re: Hei conversion question
The black wire is a ground that attaches to one of the screw holes of the HEI module. You can run it to any bare metal or directly back to the negative battery terminal.

Re: Hei conversion question
So I'm assuming the same applies with the D- post on the regulator?

Re: Hei conversion question
Yes- the D post is a ground and is eventually connected back to the neg batt terminal. It won't hurt to add extra grounds and to interconnect them.
