Default 2008 Electric RXV - What fried?

Please help me troubleshoot and find what fried on my 2008 electric RXV. Saturday morning I unplugged the charger cable (solid green light), turned the key to F and heard what was probably an electrical short. The battery meter was only reading 28v. I quickly turned it off. When I turn it back on I get no reading on the battery meter and hear nothing. When I plug the charger cable in, I get no response from the charging light.

The cart is mostly stock. I replaced the original batteries about a year ago with 6 8v batteries from Costco. I installed a MadJax lift kit and a MadJax voltage reducer that is powering front headlights. I also installed the digital battery meter that is only on when the key is in one of the on positions. The cart is stored inside the garage, but had gotten rained on the last day it was used, about 2 weeks ago.

The batteries are free of any corrosion. I have not yet looked at anything else. Any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated.

Measure some voltages and post them here. All batteries and total pack. It sounds like you lost a connection somewhere. (or had a battery fail)

I checked all of the wires for tight connections to the batteries and did not feel anything loose. I will test the voltages when I get home tonight.

If the voltages check out. What would be the next thing to test?

How did you wire the meter such that it only has a readout when it is on an On position ?

Even tho the battery cables were tight they could be corroded and not making a good connection.Clean all your battery cables while your checking your individual battery voltages as a preventative measure and you might find your problem.

It is wired behind the dash in the same way the factory meter would be wired. I think there is a harness that I wired it to. It's been a couple of years since I installed it.

RXV does a POST test. Powers motor during test.
If a batt cable or batt was bad, might have fried during test.

Wiring ANYTHING to RXV key switch is bad idea.

Several posts about meters killing controllers.Including one brought to me for repair-
controller, wire harness and several more components fried by V meter.

Found this picture of how I wired the SOC meter.

I tested each battery individually, and they all read around 8.3v. As a pack they read 50.3v. I am getting a green and red blinking on the charger when I plug it in. This isn't the best video, but maybe it will help. Skip to the 20 second mark.

If you wired it to the key switch, anything could have happened, the controller may have went south. Nothing should be wired to the keyswitch on a RXV.

That is the best way to test the controller?

Is there a way to manually release the breaks so that it can be pushed?
