what does the carb baffle do?
What does that thing do? It seems like it would restrict the air? Seems so wrong to have that thing in there. Is anybody ever ditched that thing? Is so did it run better.

Are you talking about the metal shield over the inlet of the carb inside of the air filter housing? If so removing it will not make much of an improvement. It is there to deflect the fireball when the engine backfires.

It didn't deflect the fireball in the one that I bought.. when it backfired, the intake caught on fire!
