Default Another idiot question

What is the min voltage a 36 volt cart needs to engage the motor? My batteries are pretty much toast but they give a pack voltage of 34.85 (two are under 4.2 volts). I can not even get a solenoid click.

The bigger question is what voltage do the batteries drop to under load? Do your batteries have a shorted cell causing the voltage to drop to zero when a load is on them. Their voltage "at rest" can be hiding what they are doing when you press the pedal.

The only load tester I have is the cart itself and it does nothing. I guess I can try to get a handheld load tester. I might be able to rent one from a local car parts house or one of the local cart houses. If I can find one, what should be looking for?

Any battery that is under 4.2V at rest is toast and you are going nowhere. You will risk damaging your controller if you try to run the cart with bad batteries.

The controller may have a low voltage cut off set above 24v
I set 36v carts at 27-28v to protect electronics and batteries.

The damage may already be done. The cart won't even respond. Looks like I got a lot of troubleshooting ahead of me. I am going to have to get a 'decent' battery pack by getting 2 used batteries to replace the bad ones first. That will at least give me something to check against.
