Default Reed valves

Would reed valves make it hard to start

Reed valves are "one way". Intended to let the air fuel mix get sucked in to the crank case when the piston goes up, but close off to force the fuel mix up into the cylinder when th piston goes down. Bad reed valves will usually keep it from running at all.

Going through this now. They should be snug. Either flip them over or carefully bend them back. They are very small nuts and bolts, so be careful when you remove them. I used a magnetized screwdriver to test for snugness.It would pull reed out a tad then I could hear it snap back. It did take a few tries but I got there.

I would like to replace the Reed Petals, any idea on what type ? I can't find anything on these **** things.. I saw some Yamaha ones that look the same but I have no idea if they are interchangable

Boyesen Engineering part#650, they are fiber reeds to replace your metal ones.

Found reed valves from vintage golf carts carlborg Washington for my 2pg ezgo golf cart only took 2 days to receive them thanks vintage golf cart hope this is the stuff I need to make it run
