Default How to lower the resistance 1ohm in a mcor?

I bought a nonprogrammable 0-5k controller on accident and already installed it before realizing this.

The cart is a 2002 club car DS series with a Mcor 4. I have been able to reverse the mcor resistance to 1k-6k. This was done by cutting the black and purple wire and connecting the black to the purple wire while leaving the purple harness wire disconnected.

I need to figure out how to drop the resistance by another 1k. I'm wondering if and where I can put a resistor inline to drop the resistance as they do for the 1/2 speed reverse circuit. Also, would I be able to use a resistor from the electronic 3pin or 6pin DS vglide style pedal?

Thanks!

The closest that you can get to a 0-5K throttle using an MCOR2 or MCOR3 is to:
Cute the Purple wire and tape the harness side as it will not be used.

Connect the Purple with the Yellow wire on the MCOR side.

Add a 20K x 1/2 watt resistor between the Purple & Yellow wire junction and connect it to the Black wire.

The Black wire referenced here could also be White or White/black, but Yellow and Purple are more consistent.

Edit: I am also assuming your 6k reading is actually 6.8K.

I think the previous post might be confusing since I was trying to reference your modified wiring (not a good idea is retrospect).

The nominal MCOR range is 5k-0 when using Yellow and White/Black wires.

The nominal MCOR range is 0-5K when using Yellow and Purple wires.

The White/Black wire referenced here is the Top of the MCOR, the Purple wire is the Bottom and the Yellow wire is the wiper.

The attached pdf is what I did. Thanks for the proper resistor and placement. This will save me the headache of trying to return an installed controller.
