Talking 2014 rxv freedom 1206 ac with encoder fault issue

I am working on a 2014 exgo rxv freedom with the 1206ac5201 controller
with the scanner i'm getting a encoder fault code that is current an will not clear.
I can with the scanner water the rpm through the encoder sensor and it climbs
when spinning the rear wheels.
with the code and everything plugged in with key in forward the brake will not
release there for I have no movement forward or reverse.
i have replaced the encoder sensor with two new sensors and same fault code
replaced the solenoid-throttle pedal assembly with sensor from running cart-same issue
it's a making me crazy haha
any help would be fantastic thanks in advance

Peel back the split loom on the wires just upstream of the sensor. All the way to the battery the wires pass by/over. If they have a "salty appearance", corrosion has damaged the harness. Cleaning with baking soda & water will usually correct it for a while, but it will always return.

i have removed the harness from all zip ties and wire loom and found no corrosion issuses - i tested all wires from sensor plug to controller and all test fine.
i have removed all sensors and tested all wiring with multimeter and all wiring checks good
i did notice the plug for the encoder motor when i checked for ground i touched
the other 3 wires and with key on all wires show like there all gounded?
might be normal till it gets a pulse im not sure??

You should have 5 volts on the orange wire in the encoder harness. There should also be 5 volts on the orange wires at both sensors on the accelerator and brake. If it's missing you could have one of the above component pulling down or a faulty controller.

How can you test if the controller is faulty instead of the switches?

Unplug the encoder, accelerator and brake sensor's.. see if the 5 volts comes back. If yes, plug one at a time back in and see which one pulls it back down.

i have unplugged all sensors and checked for the 5 volt signal and all are 4.9 - 5 volt
talked to fsip who has already rebuilt this controller and they want me to check for pulse from the encoder sensor
i have rpm signal on my scanner but not sure how to check for pulse-i checked at the controller while spinning the rear wheels and not seeing any change with the multimeter?

from what I understand in order to the see the pulses, you will need an oscilloscope. it is suppose to produce a 5v square wave on both outputs from the encoder sensor. its possible there may be a different problem on the cart, that is presenting itself as a encoder fault. have you pulled the motor and make sure the part off the encoder wheel (looks kind of like a gear)is attached to the shaft of the motor and is clean of any material, like anti-seize.

I have attached a link with an encoder overview.

The only time a Curtis RXV has given an encoder fault for us was when one of the pins got pushed out when we had to replace one and didn't notice it. Easy fix. But an oscilloscope has indeed come in handy for the older Danaher cars with avoiding needlessly pulling the motor and replacing it when it was not the real issue. Cheap $40 unit from Amazon.

I usually see failures in the wiring, the location pins on the axle break off and the differential+motor, flops back and forth. causing the wiring harness damage in the process.
