2005 EZ Freedom Controller??

Sorry if this lives in another thread but I searched for it and could not find the answer. I have a 2005 36v Freedom SE with new batteries. It runs great until you click the rocker to reverse. Then it will engage and not go backwards and when you click forward it will engage but not run in forward. I figured out that if I push it forward it will go forward and run just fine as a I do not click reverse. Assuming this is a controller issue? If so, should I upgrade the controller from (Buggies Unlimited) or just go with a stock replacement? Appreciate the help!!

Double-check your carts drive type and look for the Alltrax replacement at the site listed below...
