Governer keeps kicking in
I have a 2007 club car ds with a key start. When I’m driving with the pedal to the floor, the governer kicks in every 5 seconds and does it’s thing, then it goes off and the cart speeds back up for 5 seconds. This seems to be a continuous loop of it kicking in and out constantly. How do I adjust the governer to stop this?

Re: Governer keeps kicking in
Rev limiter is cutting ignition.
This can be caused by a few things. How fast does it sound like the motor is running? The rev limiter is supposed to cut ignition around 3,500 rpm if I remember right. |

Cart runs pretty fast. It kept back firing, so I throttled down the carb a little bit. It fixed that. But the governer constantly kicking in is a pain.

Re: Governer keeps kicking in
You need to adjust the pedal tension/governor to be at top governed speed just below where the limiter kick in.
That will give you the fastest speed without hitting the limiter but still probably hit it going down hills. Just need to play with it to best suit your needs. |
