please remember that the "stock" solenoid in that cart was NOT that little silver 100 amp solenoid currently installed...... Do yourself a favor and return to the true "stock" solenoid..... White Rodgers 586 is what originally came in that cart and is what you shoud return to.

UPDATE.....

Hi Guys,

Well, I finally came up with the correct wiring schematic and replaced the solenoid, switches, diode and a few wires and the cart is now running. BUT, it has lost some power, or more precisely, it has lost torque. It runs great on level ground, but once it hits a hill it comes to a stop. Here is what happened, we had two people on the cart (about 375 lbs. total) when we attempted to go up a small incline, the cart stopped, so one person got off and the cart went a little further. The person that got off the cart pushed the cart up the hill with just a little effort, he said it felt like the cart wanted to go, but couldn't. They immediately brought the cart to the garage where I checked the battery voltage and it shows 37.9v at the batteries and 37.8v at the controller, does this sound like a motor problem or a controller problem?

Rabbitreborn, thanks for the heads up on the solenoid. I ordered just the plain White-Rodgers 71 silver metal solenoid because that's what I replaced, however, after I came up with the correct wiring schematic I could plainly see that the cart requires the larger W/R solenoid. I already have the correct one on order.

Once again, any assistance will be sincerely appreciated.

PB

that sounds more like a battery problem. if you have alligator clips for your meter, clip it to the battery pack and then take the cart for a ride up the same hill... observer the voltage under load and I bet it is dropping out.

Hmmmmm....all batteries are brand new and fully charged. Well, anything is possible, so I'll test them as you suggest. What seemed so odd, was that the cart was really fast on level ground, but once it got to a hill it slowed, then stopped.

Thanks,
PB
