Default rear seat modifications

Got stuck BAD last weekend crossing a creek, because foot rest for back seat drug. Has anyone ever hinged the foot rest so it would flop up when in this situaition? I know that the braces would have to be moved, etc.
Thanks

there are a few aftermarket companies that make hinged rear platforms. I have yet to install or see one, but I see them in their catalog.

Courtesy Cart,
Were you referring to a hinged footrest or seat bottom? If the footrest, could you tell me where you saw it? I have the hinged seat that fold to make a platform, but I need the footrest hinged so that I can go thru ditches without getting hung up. I googled 'hinged rear seat', but the only results I got was the hinged seat bottom.
Thanks

I modded my footrest so it can be removed easily.
I welded square tubing onto frame of foot rest so it attaches, slides into trailer hitch on cart. That is what noldsfoot rest on cart,no other bolts/. hardware.

Since we rarely use back seat wanted to remove it when seat not in use.

That and it sometimes scraps pulling into camper depending on grade along with shortening cart when traveling.

Guess One could just cut , add a tab on each side of “receiver” part of foot rest that slides into hitch to create a stop when folded down. But easily give way if pressured from below, like steep incline, Ect. Course some welding a fab skills would be needed but not big deal for local shop if not equipped to do in house.😊
