Help! MPT1000 with diagnostic code 13

Hello,

We have an EZGO MPT1000 with a diagnostic code 13. When driving, it will start out fine but suddenly cut to about 50% power and will go no faster than a walking speed. We do not have access to any info on what code 13 might mean. Does anyone have any info on how to go about troubleshooting this? Thanks!

fault code 13 is for the speed sensor that plugs into the back of the motor. Even from your description you have a speed sensor issue. It is a gray harness. Look at it and make sure it hasn't got snagged on something and is pulled loose. check connection at the controller. If all is good than you need a new sensor and magnet. the magnet is fastened to the armature of the motor. I always replace both
