Sounds like a series cart. Where is the Forward and Reverse switch located?

If it is located below the seat and DOES NOT have a run/tow switch on the controller cover, it is a series cart

If it is located on the dash and it DOES have a RUN/TOW switch on the controller cover, then it is a PDS (Precision Drive System) cart.

Series carts have the forward/reverse control by the feet...the PDS carts have the toggle switch on the dash by the key. This began in 2000...PDS that is. They are both TXT models.

There are no cheap ways to run 25mph in a series cart. To reach 25 mph you will need to make some serious upgrades.

the series motor in which the field coils, with relatively few turns, carry the same current as does the armature

scottyb i went to cartsunlimited.net and seen an upgrade that was on there that said it would make it go pretty fast...the kit included

500amp Alltrax (DCX500) 36 - 48v programmable
400a Super Duty 1000a peak Solenoid Kit w/ Mounting Bracket
Suitable for aftermarket motor & off road

its 600.oo dollars but is it worth it?

The DCX model is not compatible with your cart unless you have a PDS or DCS cart. It is made for carts with regenerative braking systems (PDS, DCS,etc). You have a series cart. So your controller would be an AXE model. Alltrax is the manufacturer that makes motor controllers for electric vehicles.

Converting a series to PDS is not easy or cheap. Scotty will tell you exactly what you need. He knows much more than I do and has the best prices and great service.
