Default 2001 Gas ezgo smokes

I recently bought a gas Ez Go cart and installed a 6" jakes lift with 20" tires. After completing the lift I turned the govener control (rear center of the cart over the axle) in (RH) approx 4 turns to get more speed. The cart runs fine and I did not notice any smoke. After completing a short test run, I noticed the cart smoking when I backed it in my garage. The smoke is white like I am burning oil. I checked the oil level and it is at the low mark.

Questions: 1.) Did I over rev the engine causing a problem? 2.) It makes sense to me that the oil level may be lower since the cart is lifted. What should I fill it to with the 6" lift?

The cart came with 15W40 fleet oil in it. Can I use a different oil to reduce the smoke.....oil usage if I damaged it?

find out how much oil engine calls for than change oil and with the right amount in engine make a new mark on stick, could you have damaged it but adjusting the gov and over revving.......yes sir you could have.............hope you didn,t but you might want to turn the gov. back down some.......................

Jack up backend then drain oil, refill with 1.5 quarts and remark the full line on dip stick ( I use a file). Also check for oil in air filter box.
