The new tube on the left side had to be notched in the front to fit next to the original piece because of the additional brake plate on that side.

It's stiff because it has no batteries. Add 373 lbs worth of batteries and a couple full size persons and it won't be near as stiff.

You might be right sportcoupe. I haven't pulled it apart to check the bushings or even how tight the pivot bolts are yet. I'll let you know what I find if anything.
