Default Re: New Navitas install. Low battery voltage cutout.

The resistor was removed after Navitas 440 install.

Also...my battery pack sounds like it's bubbling long after it is removed from charger.

I spoke to Navitas tech rep about low battery fault. His first response was bad batteries and asked if I had load tested them. So I had them tested and all six are good under 15 second load. I called back the rep and relayed the results. Since I had him on the phone I was able to send him a data log from stop to full throttle (5 seconds) and back to stop. The batteries are fine. He wants me to send an additional log once the controller throws another low battery voltage code. So that is the lastest Intel.

Came across video about ITS. With power on (neutral) I checked the voltage on the four pin connector coming from ITS and microswitch. Red wire has pack voltage. Green and white wire zero voltage. BLACK wire 11.9v. This is wrong evidently. This should have a range as pedal is depressed from under one to like 3 volts. The white wire is supposed to have about 15v and has zero. So what should I do?

First of all, make absolutely sure the ITS testing techniques and the voltages are the correct ones for you SPECIFIC make and model controller.

The ITS throttle has three parts, one of them is the sensor in the pedal box and the other two (power source and throttle position decoder) are inside the controller.

Stock EZGO controllers use a voltage source and the voltage measured across the ITS sensor increases as the pedal is pushed to the floor while Alltrax controllers use a constant current source (probably to avoid patent infringements) and the voltage across the ITS sensor decreases as the pedal is pushed to the floor. I don't know how a Navitas controller ITS interface works other than it does not work like the Curtis interface due to potential patent infringements. (ITS Patent attached)

Majority of the time this is what causes the issue on a Navitas install. A Navitas setup will identify bad batteries fast.
