Default $8.50 lesson??

I had charger problems so I tested the fuse with my continuity tester and it tested bad. So, I bought a new fuse for $8.50 and installed it. Plugged up the charger and nothing. Unplugged the charger and came in to search the forum and found that I probably should have tested the diodes first!!

Went back out and tested the fuse and it is bad. Will bad diodes kill the fuse? And I checked the diods for continuity both ways and had it. Should I have continuity both ways or only one way on the diodes?

Should only been one way. Diodes are shot, That will smoke the fuse.

diodes are designed to only allow current to flow one way. that's how a.c voltage is rectified into d.c voltage. something smoked them.

to answer the first question you had, YES a bad diode will smoke a fuse in a heartbeat.....
