Forward and Reverse Switch wiring diagram

I have an 1989 electric club car and i am looking for the wiring diagram of the forward and reverse switch because i have doubts of were the cables are connected. The car wont work and when i connect the S2 terminal cable there is a spark and smoke coming out of battery number 6.

Please help, it would be gratefully appreciated.

i dont quite understand this diagram, i have a 89 club car resistor coil, my wires have paint on them so i dont know the colors. like coils white whats that. can you just draw me a diagram telling me where to attach each wire coming off the switch. the 2 in the middle of switch not sure where and i have a 36 volt solenoid switch that sits on my frame under the switch. the 2 prongs on the bottom i can tie together an run to pos terminal on 3rd batt right? and the prong on pass side goes to pos terminal on 6th batt on pass side?

I need detailed wiring diagram for a 89 model club car, resistor type with solenoid switch mounted under the forward rev switch. I need to know where every wire goes coming off the switch. THANKS guys if anyone can help me out with this

Peter, the reason for tying the bottom 2 terminals together is for eliminating the 1/2 power reverse feed ONLY. IF you want to do that then you would ALSO eliminate the cable going to the battery #3 positive.(18v)
The rest is fairly simple the white cable goes to the coil pack behind the batteries. Certainly your cables are not painted their whole length? the 2 cables on the center pivot will go to the motor S1 and S2 terminals.... did you find your diagram?
