Power Loss quick
Yamama YDRE
48 Volt (4x Trojan T 1275) Alltrax 400 Upgraded solenoid Stock motor Cart was plugged in and fully charged befire being ran 4 days ago for a short time (maybe an two 30 min trips) and did not plug in after. Got in today to run 15 min away and lost power pretty quickly. Was 48.2v with I got in and was in the mid/upper 30s while running. Eventually slowed to an almost halt. All 4 batteries replaced 10/2017 and are topped off. Get it back home and its at 47.8v. Only other time this has happened we ran the cart for a very long time in a hilly neighborhood. I feel there is no reason this should happen, unless something is wrong or worn out. Could it be the stock motor finally giving out? or something else? |

Re: Power Loss quick
At those voltages you are running between 40% and 50% charge. Once you fully charge you should be good. This link will help you determine state of charge.

Re: Power Loss quick
Mid to upper 30s while running is absolutely terrible. It should be above 42v at all times while underway, even when accelerating at full throttle (which is Max load). Repeat this test after fully charged. Also, you need to be charging after every use, not after several days of use. The deeper you discharge the batteries between recharging, the shorter the life of the batteries. And any time the batteries are left sitting at below 50%, they are dieing from sulphation. Your usage style could have worn out the batteries already.
This chart is "depth of discharge per use VS use cycles before battery failure". It's for AGM & GEL, but the curve is about the same for FLA. |
