Default battery voltage drops within an hour

guys,

I just charged my batteries - 4 12v on my 06 cc iq ds, batteries are 2006 trojans (black). Is it normal after a complete charge for the voltage across the pack to be 53 volts and then in, about a 2 hour period, without ever driving the cart, the voltage drops to 50.6.

Is that normal?

yesterday, after an overnight charge, we drove throughout the day, and the voltage had dropped to 47 volts.

The link below is from Trojan Batteries and has a drop down menu under Related Links for the how to's for just about anything concerning batteries.

Perfectly normal. You wait for the batteries to rest 6 hours after a charge, and measure the voltage to obtain the State of Charge. For a 48 volt stack you should measure about 50.9 volts for 100% SOC.
