Default Carryall 272 Rattle below in engine compartment

Hi all,
I have a carryall 272 and i notice that theres something rattling below in the
engine compartment. it does worse at certain RPM and it sounds almost like a loose shield rattling below but i can't find anything, could the engine be slightly out of time, or could it be the transmission? anybody else noticing anything on their clubcars?

Have you checked to see it someone has left a wrench or similar item on the engine mounting skid plate?

A trailer hitch that is loose or has a loose ball will do it every time.

thats almost what it sounds like, however, the engine seems to be running a little on the rough side even if i run it in maintenance mode, maybe the vibration of the engine not running perfect is making something rattle,
but thanks for the advice, i'll check into both of them.

Nope, nothing there to make it rattle, no hitch and nothing on the engine skid plate.
but i ran it a bit in maintenance mode to see if i could locate it,
and i found something rather strange but a little tough to describe,
i floored the gas and i noticed that one linkage in the back of the cart, throttled right up
with me but as soon as the clutch was tight the linkage eased of a bit and the rattle was almost gone until i released the gas and throttled it up again, so i played around and felt for vibration and i found out that when i squeezed the air intake hose just to feel any vibration, and throttled the cart, the vibration was very noticeable right at that intake hose.

i found it rather strange on both things so something made me wonder if the cart isn't being choked even with choke not on.... and that's prob making the engine rattle. let me know what you think the problem is.

I have never seen it for myself but, I have heard repeatedly that the CC engines are capable of sucking their butterly valves down the carb. What you diagnosed sounds exactly like this begining to happen. I would pull the carb and check the butterfly valve. Let us know...

i'm almost thinking the engine is doing it, how many hours can these engines last? maybe it's on the way out and rattling like all out to squeeze out a few more hours,

I see them wrung out after about 3 to 4000 hours. Usually they start to smoke long before they blow. Not always...
