Re: Electric Golf Cart Motor
If the cart is wired factory you will have 36 volts everywhere. Motor, microswitches, solenoid.....everywhere.

Re: Electric Golf Cart Motor
OK.....do you go to the frame or to a batt for ground
so far going to frame, I am reading 19.2V at all the big wires and 6.8 to 7V at the small wires on the solenoid even with the key off |

Re: Electric Golf Cart Motor
NEVER ground to frame on an electric cart. Only ground to the negative side of the battery. What is the total pack voltage using your volt meter?

Re: Electric Golf Cart Motor
As always Roady's advice is solid. The only thing I can ad is...Yamaha put a "charge lock" system in G2's. It is the little white button in the charger receptical. It was intended to not let the car mocve when the charger cord was plugged in. You may want to spray the receptical and button area with wd40 and push the white plunger in several time to see if it stuck. Good luck. Dave

Re: Electric Golf Cart Motor
Thank You roady ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
The motor runs so ... cool Does that mean both forward & reverse are good? Just 4 My Info......How do you make it go the other way? Is there a fuse anywhere? Now any help with what to do next? As I said I have cleaned everything and the switch on the peddle, the key switch, and the solanoid are all new and have been tested. THANKS A BUNCH ROADY :) |

Re: Electric Golf Cart Motor
Change the polarity to change direction.
There could be a fuse. Look at the wiring diagram to track it down. It will either be a fuse, bad microswitch or bad connection. Your going to have to use your voltmeter to find the problem. |

Re: Electric Golf Cart Motor
you said it was a 1980 G-1
I have not found one for it I found one for a G-2 and one for a G-8 What about the big coil...how do you test it? or the speed controler or the direction control I am guessing just check continuity on each contact on the controlers Just not sure how to check that big coil |
