A running driving cart will always be worth more than a cart that doesn’t run.

Especially electric carts, as they can be very expensive to fix. Sometimes it really is just the batteries. Sometimes the bad batteries are just hiding a bunch of other stuff that doesn’t work, and you don’t/won’t know about until you’ve spent the money on the batteries.

If someone buying it can drive it, they know everything works. It just won’t go very far. I’ve sold a couple carts for $2200-2300 with bad batteries here. Actually had people fighting over it, both sold with a day or two. And yes, I clearly stated in the ad the batteries were almost 10 years old and need to be replaced but they didn’t seem to care. But in Michigan the golf cart market is insane…

Sometimes I wonder if it's uneducated buyers, for example most people generally think batteries are $600, which is possible with a 36v cart, just not a 48v.
The one Duracell I have isn't that old, I have an 8v tender/desulfator, I'll bring in inside and put it on there and see where it goes. Needing one less battery may take the sting out of new ones.

Edit: I can now see the other post, I'll give it a read.

Don’t re-use the one new”er” one. It will drag down and ruin the other 5 that are actually new.

If you’re gonna buy new batteries buy all 6

My neighbor just bought a 1987 for $2000 with 3 different brands of batteries, no back seat, 10” and 12” wheels, a top off of some other kind of cart that doesn’t fit right and the seller painted the vinyl seat and it’s wearing off plus it doesn't’ run very good.

I’ll give u a couple examples. I paid $500 for my old 2001 cc ds. Non-running Barn junker. Put 1500 in batteries and charger to get it working used it for 1-2 months then started upgrading.

Family member just bought a running 36v ezgo for $200. So don’t think everything is worth gold.

Now if you say the cart is decent and able to prove it works I would list for 2-3k sight un seen.

For what it's worth. A non running cart just leaves open a can of worms for most buyers being that it's a huge unknown as to what could be the cause. Most people will want a test drive and without that the price would have to significantly reduced to compensate for the 'fear factor' as to what else may be wrong.

Thanks for all the input, i think i'm leaning towards just buying new batteries.
You guys kinda make it sound like the prices local to me are accurate, so it's probably worth the effort.
I'll pull the cart out this weekend, give it a power wash. If i decide to do the batteries i think sams stocks them, i'll also check with my brother who works at costco to see what the interstates go for.
I'll post some pics too.

My only fear is that i fix it, then i want to keep and modify it. lol
