Default "incomplete" light shining on Yamaha 48V charger

I tried to charge my Yamaha last weekend and the charger wouldn't cycle on. One of the batteries was totally dead, and I decided after 5 years it was time to replace them all. I installed them today and the cart now works, as they are mostly charged. When I plugged the charger in, it tried to cycle through the lights and instead of the "charging" light coming on, the "incomplete" light is on. Any ideas? Do I need a new charger as well? It was already a bad day to have to spend $700 on 6 new batteries.

Do you have a volt meter? If yes, Read the battery set voltage, you'll need at least 44 plus volts for the charger to sence it is plugged into someting. Make absultly shure you have "AC" voltage at the outlet (plug in a lite or radio ect or use the volt meter. You can take the cover off the charger and test the "AC" voltage from the AC cord and thru the AC circuit breaker (could be "tripped" and may need resetting or replaced. Please try those things and let us know what you found. Good Luck
