Heavy duty springs vs. shock with coil
I have 2002 txt pds with stock suspension and rear seat kit. Just wondering if anyone had any feedback on switching to heavy duty leaf springs in the rear vs installing a shock with coil? I usually ride with my wife and kids through the neighborhood making about 300 lbs in the front and 200-225 in the rear. The front drivers side seems to sit an inch lower then the passenger without any passengers so I was planning to replace the front shocks and figured I would go ahead and do the back while I was at it.

Re: Heavy duty springs vs. shock with coil
My 2001 sat about an inch low on the drivers side as well. I did the shocks on all 4 corners and it did not change a thing. So I did the HD front and rear springs. The front springs were shot, the rear were on the way out. When I squared the front springs up that fixed the front. The upper rear shock mount was bent about 1/2 an inch. No fun fixing that. Had to take the body off so I added some steel to it while I was at it. Should be good for life now. Oh yeah make sure you get good springs. I had to send my first set back . I went the cheap route. Just comparing stock verses cheap and I knew that it wouldn't work. The new 1s are much thicker.

Yeah I'm new around here so I was being nice. Check the post steering adjustment and turning. Johnnie posted the full manual for a similar problem.

Thanks, haven't been on here long myself. I don't like not knowing about a lot of this stuff so I figured this would help getting me up to speed. I would much rather ask a dumb question then waste money away. Thanks for you input!

Re: Heavy duty springs vs. shock with coil
Installed front and rear HD leaf springs yesterday. Wasn't that bad to install but the front drivers side was a pain. The cart is nice and stout now, the front is all square to now and doesn't sag an inch lower anymore. It does have a little squeak on the rear end now but my shock bushings haven't arrived yet so hopefully that is all I need to do to fix that.
