Default 36 volt to 48 volt ?

upgraded contoller 400amp curtis and D&D motor, i have 2008 ez go 36volt, buying new batteries and wondering any advantage going 48 volt...and using 6 8 volt batteries ?

Going from 36V to 48V will give you up to 33% more torque and speed.

Better acceleration and doesn't slow as much on hills.

And I guess have to go to 48 volt charger and converter for radio and lights right

Yes, and a 48 volt solenoid. Also, there are 400 amp controllers that are 36 volt only. Make sure yours can take either.

DPI makes the best charger I am told. It comes in a 48v and costs right under $300
