Still need some help, buggy won't go
Hello again all,
Here's what I have. I have a 2010 EZ GO with a TXT 48 speed controller. It will not move. The solenoid has power on the positive side from the key switch but going from the positive side of the battery to the negative side of the solenoid there is nothing. The solenoid does not click when the pedal is pushed. The FNR switch is wired and working correctly. There is 51 and 49v on the solenoid on the larger poles. I recently replaced the speed controller with a used one from a reliable source who claims it is good, and I'm still experiencing the same issue so I'm assuming it's not the controller. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks! |

I have not.
I'm not entirely sure what wires are going to the reed switch. |

I'm having similar problems. Where is the reed switch and what do we heck for?

Re: Still need some help, buggy won't go
reed switch is inside charge port, it will be the thinnest of the 3 wires exiting the charge port. it needs to see full voltage when the charger plug handle is not plugged in, no voltage when charger plug handle is plugged in (this prevents you from driving away while plugged in). it is acceptable to open the charge port and bypass the reed switch, ezgo even did it on some. once you open the port, it will be clear what to do to bypass it. do disconnect the battery pack if attempting this, no need to set the cart on fire or destroy the wire harness with clumsy wire handling, this will not help you get driving .

Thanks for the info. I don't use a charger port. I have an onboard charger. I suppose that means I don't have any reeds either. I took the charge port out when I installed the onboard charger.

Re: Still need some help, buggy won't go
2010 TXT 48v does not have a reed switch regardless of if it has an onboard charger or not.
Not sure if the OP is still working out the issue or not, but wanted to make sure they were aware of the no reed switch. Checkride, you need to give more info. " I'm having similar problems" doesn't really tell us much. |
