Ezgo DCS trouble
So a few weeks ago I blew the stock controller in my DCS cart. I found a used DCX300 to replace the controller with. When I recieved the controller it had field map 4 on it. I emailed alltrax (thanks again Scotty) and recieved the correct field map within 30 min. Installed and verified the field map.
Well the cart will go in reverse but not forward. Ive checked both limit switches at the FNR switch. I reversed the F1 and A2 cables at the controller (not sure if thats safe) and the cart would then go forward but the FNR selector had to be in reverse. The controller throws 5 red lights when the pedal is pushed trying to go forward (open field circuit). This controller was advertised "as is" and was very cheap so I have not ruled out bad controller yet. Alltrax website says to check field connections and motor’s field resistance. What would be the proper way to go about this? Anything else I should check? As always thanks in advance. |

Re: Ezgo DCS trouble
Ezgo TXT has a history for fraying the motor field wires where they wrap around the corner of the battery box. See below and check it out closely on your cart by removing the rear wheel or the 2 batteries or both. THis will throw the 5 red blink code... unfortunately this will also kill any Curtis or DCX control.

Re: Ezgo DCS trouble
Scotty. I do see a "rubbed" spot on the white wire but its not near any part of the frame or metal. I rewired the cart when I first got is so I guess it moved. I checked it tand it test good? Would the bare spot still cause trouble if its not touching anything?

Re: Ezgo DCS trouble
No but if it does touch something conductive it can fry the controller, that picture I posted cost me a brand new control.
