Rxv voltage reducer
Just got a Voltage reducer for my 2010 rxv. 48 volt One of the wires says hook up to ignition switch. Anyone know where that wire goes since ignition switch is also the f n r switch?

Re: Rxv voltage reducer
Do not wire to key switch! The on/off wire should be connected to solenoid large/high current terminal. The solenoid stays on when key is in F, R or N.

Re: Rxv voltage reducer
If it was any other cart I'd say wire the on/off from voltage converter to KSI output. But with the RXV...no way I'm adding anything to the factory harness. Read to many expensive stories. Connect the on/off to large output terminal on solenoid and it turns on the voltage reducer when the key is in any position.

Re: Rxv voltage reducer
On the RXV, the solenoid is switched on and off by the controller. The hot for the solenoid comes from KSI, negative comes from the controller. So it's not always powered on when the key is on. Use that and you'll find that you have no power at times when you're not using the motor. It times out and shuts off if all is working properly. KSI is the only option to have the key control it. You can use a relay powered from KSI to switch battery power for the voltage reducer if needed.
You don't need to hack the harness, just connect to the small terminal of the solenoid that goes to +48V when the key is on and the solenoid is engaged. It should be a red wire. Bob |
