Re: ezgo shuttle going slow (7 MPH) with new batteries, controller, speed sensor, etc
I have a 2003 TXT PDS Shuttle with your exact set up mechanical wise besides i have stock motor. My cart was doing the same thing getting 7 mph max, went in controller and disabled the speed limit and now max is 26 mph. I also have lift and bigger tires.

I still have the stock motor. I am interested in what an upgrade but staying within the 400 amps would be. I think that my motor maybe nearing the end. I can hear the bearings start to whine.

My tires are labeled 18", Carlisle's website says the mounted diameter is 18.3", they measure 17 tall with a level and yardstick and they have a rolling diameter of 17.04". Thanks for the exact gear ratio. EZGO published specs list it as 14.7:1 21MPH with 14.76:1 gears and 18" tires is 5788RPM rather than 5765RPM. When you get your speed sensor fixed and the motor RPM starts showing up on the data logs, you can insert a column next to it and divide the motor RPM by 275.631 to get cart speed in MPH. Which can be refined more with whatever your cart's exact tire height is. |

The cart ought to run faster with speed limit enabled. I know my 2008 TXT PDS with a XCT48400-PDS controller only runs about 3/4 as fast without the speed limit enabled. Maybe the XCT48400-OEMG19 works differently. Could be an issue that needs to be forwarded to Alltrax. |

It appears that the stock motor might be doing a fairly decent job for speed and torque with stock height tires. Maybe the existing motor just needs a good cleaning, new brushes and new bearing at your local electric motor shop. |
