I was just curious if anyone has ever tried to rebuild a stock curtis controller ? It is from a 99 EZ-GO txt series cart ,it lookes like a sealed unit but just thought I would ask the question .

Re: anyone do a controller rebuild
I really appreciate it because I ended up with a low voltage situation and burned up two stock units "mine and my buddies" before I figured it out .Is there some sort of fused link inside that typically burns out or something ?

Re: anyone do a controller rebuild
first take the cover apart and see what IS burned out. If it's anything like mine was, it will be obvious...

Re: anyone do a controller rebuild
There is a controller rebuilder that can do it for you and also raise the amperage if you would like. I can't remember the name but I'm sure a search would find it. (controllertestservices???)

Re: anyone do a controller rebuild
Now this may be a dumb question but the plastic cover that is attatched to the aluminum plate looks like it is fastened from the back with 4 threaded studs ,do you just drill those out or does the cover pry off .I didn't want to start prying and brake something .

Re: anyone do a controller rebuild
No, don't drill them out, those are the screws that hold the internals. I pryed off the cover to mine with a couple of flatheads

How about some pics and tutorial as you go along, might turn into a sticky for others.
