disc brake upgrade
not sure if this is where this is supposed to go, but thought it would get more attention here.
Has anybody tried the bisc brake conversion from ausco ameri-torque. I am thinking bout ording a few kits to try, but was wondering if they were worth the price and do they really stop better. |

Re: disc brake upgrade
I put four wheeled disk on my build and it almost squats when I apply the brakes. A lot faster at stopping than my wifes cart (it has factory drum on rear only). I do not think you can be disappointed in going with disk over drum on any cart, even if it is just the rears. My two cents worth. good luck.

Re: disc brake upgrade
I am thinking about ordering a set to do kind of a review on them. I spoke with them yesterday. These are mechanical drum replacement disc brakes. I like the idea

Re: disc brake upgrade
The salesman stopped buy the shop and showed me the "brake cable actuated" disc brake set up. I was impressed to tell you the truth. The hubs alone were a nice peice! We bought a kit (for a relative of the owner) to try on the back of his ezgo workhourse (I think it was). Haven't taked to him yet to get his feelings. I thought the brake material/lining was alittle on the "thin" side. I almost bought a set for "Wilson", but he's to spoiled at is now I'd say try one, and give your feedback...It's worth a shot.

Re: disc brake upgrade
No Scot, I didn't do the job at all, just bought the kit for him. As I recall the salesman said the stock cables work or it came with an adapter to make it work, just had to order the correct kit for the cart.
