Default G16A Carb Issue?

Cart has plenty of power, engine not turning over, but I suspect carb blockage problem as gas getting into engine crankcase/block--pulled out oil dipstick and saw gas right there. There was also some gas getting into the air filter compartment. Plan to drain oil and check fuel pump, filter, and clean carb. Does this problem sound familiar to anyone? Thanks in advance.

Also, fuel can enter the engine crankcase via the fuel pump pulse hose, if the fuel pump diaphragm has a hole in it. RAY

Thanks Ray--I'll check on that. Forgot to mention that the cart year is 1997.

Check valve timing.

I'll be checking on this problem this weekend, that is, checking fuel pump, hoses, carb blockage of any kind. I'm concerned about the gas having mixed with the oil (crankcase) so after I drain this mix out, is it sufficient to simply add in the new oil and go from there?

Just drain out the old oil/gas mixture and add 1 qt 10w-30. I prefer synthetic, but any good dino oil is ok too. Keep an eye on the oil level to make sure it's not increasing. My 97 G16 was about a half quart overfull at the end of last summer and I changed it before putting it away for the winter. I'm keeping an eye on mine also, but so far so good. Not sure where the gas came from. - RAY
