Question Yamaha WAY TOO FAST - need help

2007 Yam Gas YDRAE is driving 30+ mph and the speed cannot be adjusted down. Someone had the governor zip tied and now it has to be slowed down and governor will not kick in no matter how far its adjusted down. Any ideas?

You would probably get more responses to this if you posted in the Yamaha gas section instead of the EZGO electric forum.

From what little bit I know about the Yamaha gas, the engine governor is supposed to be connected to a speed sensor on the differential. I'm just taking a shot in the dark because Yamaha carts aren't my thing, but it sounds like your governor is not linked to the speed sensor. Hopefully you can post your question in the Yamaha forum and somebody that actually knows how they work can get you straight.

Input shaft is trashed, seen it many times. Governor is totally non-functional.
