Default Help with 48V TXT wiring for voltmeter and 3 position switch

Hi guys,

I just bought a digital voltmeter and mounted on the dash and was wondering the best way to wire it.

The instructions show 2 methods, a direct battery method or wired to the ignition switch.

The ignition switch instructions requires voltmeter + to ignition switch + and voltmeter - to battery -.

Is this the best route or is there a negative on the ignition switch I can tap into?

Thanks.

Answer is no. Need to run that wire back to the pack negative.

Thank you. What gauge wire should I use?

Just a meter so 16 would be fine. Wouldn’t hurt to run heavy wires up there in case you wanted to run something else later.

OK, got it installed and it seems to be working except the voltage drops and fluctuates while driving.

At a stop, the voltage stabilizes.

Is this normal?
