97 ezgo txt 36 volt. What diode and resistor size is needed for heavy duty solenoid?

3 amp diode and 250 ohm resistor

Thank you kgsc. I have the 250 resistor the cart came with but the diode was not on the solenoid, every wiring diagram I have looked at shows one on it. I have done some small repairs on other early model ezgo and they did not have one. I take it is necessary to have the diode.

No problem.. Just remember that the banded side(white stripe) goes on red.
