Speed sensor replacement
How do I know what speed sensor To purchase. I have a 97 48v regen 1 motor. All I find on motor is the club car label. How do I tell what brand motor I have so I can purchase the correct sensor. My motor is grey in color and sensor has a flat plate that is screwd on the motor.

Re: Speed sensor replacement
Your cart will run just fine without a speed sensor. Is there a reason you want one or just because it is not working

Re: Speed sensor replacement
Top speed is 7mph. Im replacing mcor also or will that fix it. I upgraded my cart to a 05 iq but used my 97 regen 1 motor as that was missing in my upgrade parts.

Re: Speed sensor replacement
O K That makes a difference. You need a speed sensor. I don't know who might have them for regen 1-2 motors.

Re: Speed sensor replacement
I don't know very much about electric carts, but I have a little bit... just a little bit... of experience on this,
This is what your regen speed sensor should look like... (Less the ripped out plug) 040.JPG 013.JPG 5 years ago I worked on the first cart I owned, a 98 48V Regen 2 that had a catastrophic U bolt failure. (owned by someone else at the time) Remember this mrgolf? http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-sparkies.html I bought my replacement speed sensor from David @ Revolution Golf Cars, I remember at the time that they were somewhat hard to find, but David just happened to have access of one for me! What concerns me is... your using a regen 1 motor on an IQ platform... I'm not sure that the old style regen speed sensor will be compatible with an IQ controller! I'd give him a call, or send him an email and see what he has to say! https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/ |

Re: Speed sensor replacement
Purpleharley61, we can get the sensor (yes it's compatible with IQ), but not the magnet. Unfortunately if the magnet is broken, you're gonna have to replace the entire motor unless you can get lucky enough to find a used magnet. It's a totally different magnet than the IQ motors use. Yours will be held onto the armature shaft by a tiny little allen screw. Check the magnet and make sure it's ok. If you need a sensor, let me know.
