Default Heavy Duty Leaf Springs and U Bolts

I just received my new All Sports Heavy Duty Leaf Springs and began installing them tonight. I noticed that the nuts on the u bolts prior to changing them out had quite a bit of room for the nut to tighten up. After replacing with the new All Sports Leaf springs, which are obviously thicker, I can now barely get the nut all the way threaded on to the bolt. Should I trade out of the U bolt for a longer one, if so any recommendations? Or should I just tighten them down as far as I can go.

I have a 15 Precedent if it makes a difference.

Shout out to Revolution Carts and David for the quick delivery and guiding me through the ordering process!

Id say if the bolt is flush with the nut and having the lock washer on your good.
If not id get longer u bolts with new nuts.

Ideally, you want the U-Bolt to protrude through the end of the nylock nut. If it doesn't break through the nylon on the nut it will have the tendency to back off. If they're not long enough to do that, you'll need to get some longer U-Bolts.

Okay thank you, I’ve got some longer ones ordered just for added protection. Thanks for the help!

I had the same issue when installing dual actions today. One u-bolt was definitely long enough but one is suspect. I was able to get both nuts just about flush. I'll probably replace with a longer u-bolt. Don't know why there would be two different sized u-bolts but then again, my club car is a silver standard, so maybe when they re-manufactured there was an issue which included the u-bolt needing to be replaced and they put on a shorter size.

Hmm that is interesting. Which side was shorter? I began installing mine on the passenger side and that U-bolt was very short. I stopped and didn’t even begin working on the driver side yet. Ordered some longer ones to replace the short one.

Sir, I sent you a PM, if you can check it when you have a second. Thanks!

Passenger side was much shorter. I was able to tightened one nut a little more this morning, so I'm afraid they are already started to back out. Need to get another u bolt ASAP. Is there a torque setting on these bolts?

I have no idea on the torque. I ordered these and put in the passenger side last night with no issues. They are longer and fit perfectly on my 2015 Precedent
