Re: 97 DS 48 volt, early regen conversion to ?
Yes, but the Regen 2 conversion controller is different than the OEM version of the Regen 2 controller. The Alltrax XCT for the Regen 2 is designed to replace the OEM version, so I can't guarantee it would work. This cart is still a Regen 1, with an adapter plug allowing him to use his Regen 2 controller. As mentioned above, it does not have a Tow/Run switch and is still using the 101800608 OBC that was used in the Regen 1 car. Lots of variables here that I'm unsure whether or not it would work with a Regen 2 XCT controller from Alltrax. That's why I suggested removing it all and installing an IQ harness. I know that would work.

David, his picture on post #4 shows an OBC # 101956103 v5.1, I though those were the IQ and up OBCs with the low current lockout on the blue wire.

I'm not familiar with that part number, but I think the reason why I'm not familiar with it is because I've always ordered the "Kit" number 101800608. The "Kit" contains an OBC (probably the 101956103) and an amber light that goes in the dash, intended to replace the old red light that didn't have the CDM sensor in it. Based on what I can tell here, this is the correct OBC. It's definitely not an IQ OBC because it's an angle-mount design. The IQ was never an angle-mount. It was always panel mounted. |

That, to me, appears to be a regen 2 controller. The wiring pinout for regen 2 is posted with the wire diagram in the sticky’s section. You may not be able to match up wire colors, but you can trace wire function by the pin layout of the connector at the controller. |

I'm considering just adding a ground to the solenoid activation circuit and let it run till something else stops it, or they sell it - whichever comes first. Last edited by meimk; 09-25-2019 at 12:49 PM.. Reason: punctuation |
