Ok, i think its fixed!
Did checks and did not find any voltage loses, decided to replace the spade connections at the micro switch leads with quality but splice heat shrink connections and so far so good. Have run the cart Sunday and Monday for 30 minute run each day with multiple stop, start, foward and reverse actions and everything is working fine.
Big thanks to NoleFan for the help

Argh, tried running cart today and no fwd or rev. I can her the soleniod clicking and have voltage as described in trouble shooting steps. Battery charger was charging when i disconnected it to take for a spin. Looking for ideas of what else to start troubleshooting, OBC....?..
Thanks KP

Ok, so after a half hour or so after disconnecting the charger the carts runs in fwd and rev. Is there a thermal switch in the OBC that could be the fault or something else?

No sir. It sounds like you need to look for a gremlin. Lets see if it occurs again.

so I'm trying to find the gremlin!
I checked the cart this am, didn't work with key switch on, i can here the solenoid clicking and get 52 volts at the main batt + and - on both of the test described in previous posts
when i have time to troubleshoot it works fine, when I dont have time the problem shows itself....
a real gremlin for sure.
