Default Anyone tow a small trailer with your Club Car?

I’m thinking of getting one of those 40x48 $300 trailers with 12” tires from Harbor Freight or Northern to tow short distances on my 1.5 acre flat lot. They weigh 150 lbs. I have a lot of brush and 2 garages that are about 200 ft apart. Sometimes I need to haul tools or things between the garages. Would this be too much strain on my 1997 cart? Thanks

It shouldn’t be an issue as long as you’re not pulling too much weight. I’ve pulled heavier things than that trailer with stock carts. Do you have a back seat on your cart?

I pull cars and trucks into my shop with my golf carts. Usually use a gas cart, but if electric is the only thing around or easiest to get to at the time I’ve used those as well. Weight is only a real issue if you’re tying to climb a hill or trying to stop. 500lbs combined trailer and cargo I don’t think you’ll have any problem with especially if you’re on relatively flat ground.

I agree with the others. Shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't overload it with a bunch of bricks, rocks, etc.

Thanks for the replies, I just need something bigger than the small wagon/cart I am pulling now. I work on my cars in my garage near the house but store many of my seldom used tools and other items in the shop that is at the back of my property. I don't have a back seat on my cart. I purchased a box receiver hitch that I used to hook up to my 2" hitch. I have noticed the area where the receiver is connected does seem to flex quite a bit when you hook up a trailer (I have a lightweight boat trailer I've towed a time or two.) If I added a rear seat or cargo bed would I still be able to hook up to the box hitch? Are the cargo beds/rear seats one in the same?
