Clubcar throttle fault
Hi All, I’m looking at a guys 2004 DS Clubcar who had a problem with the cart going slow, particularly up hill. I plugged in a Curtis handheld which showed HPD fault and on monitor of the throttle % it was only showing 36%, it also needed new batteries. After installing new batteries and new MCOR I tested it on the flat and it was showing 93% throttle and went well. The guy rang me and said seems to be pulsating/ surging going up a hill.
I put my handheld back on and the batteries are showing good however going up a hill, with pedal flat to the floor, the throttle % jumps from 64-73-84-77-68-81% which you can feel in the cart. Under faults I have noted the HPD fault in the history but no faults register when the cart is pulsating uphill. Driving on the flat, the throttle only ever goes to 87% Any ideas? |

Re: Clubcar throttle fault
That sounds like a faulty MCOR. Was that an OEM version or a Chinese? Have had them bad out the box. With there being no faults and the throttle doing as you describe, it is normally in the potentiometer.
The % you see are pretty much normal for an MCOR with stock Curtis. You can shim the pedal to try and get it up more. Altrax will automatically calibrate for this and helps in that one area. |

Re: Clubcar throttle fault
Could also be just that the accelerator linkage is no longer going all the way which allows for the MCOR signal to fluctuate.
Check out this old post and if the cart has this kind of pedal assembly use either a zip tie as shown or a small piece of fuel hose to take out the slack. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tml#post258017 |

Re: Clubcar throttle fault
Thanks
I will check the pedal linkage today I’m not sure on the brand of MCOR as the owner bought it. |
