Re: 2005 Lifted EZGO $3400 obo
Seems to me you stated NEW batteries, then said refurb in ( )?
Refurbs are USED batteries. New are NEW batteries. How can you say one is the other? There are a bunch of smart people in here. Claiming refurbs as new is not a good way to describe them... |

Re: 2005 Lifted EZGO $3400 obo
There seems to a lot of hype in reguards to refurbs. Some say ya some say na, but I too have refurbs in a cart that have lasted now 2 years at half the cost and still going stong. They will last all night of trail riding and I mean a cases of beer constantly going. We clocked over 25 miles of hilly terain, mud, sand, and the occasional down tree and they still ran strong. It keeps the cost down allowing you pass it along. I understand what you are saying but do you have factual evidence collected to back up your claim.
Until a control has been set and data has been collected as too the quality of refurbs all statements are opinions. And that is a fact. It also depends on the manufacturer doing the process and their quality control or SOP standards. |

Re: 2005 Lifted EZGO $3400 obo
I see you edited your original post -
My thoughts are if a customer is going to spend $4K or $5K on a rebuilt cart, then why not add $250.00 more to the price and get them some new Trojans? If you're going through all the trouble to rebuild a cart, remove the batteries, add new cables and hardware, then it's a no brainer to add batteries that will last 5 or 6 years. Besides, in 2 years when they have to replace batteries, will your customer remember you saved them $200.00? I say no, because I hear it all the time - which is one reason we stay so busy servicing carts bought at other dealerships |

Re: 2005 Lifted EZGO $3400 obo
Not all customers see alike. That is why I always offered them at cost in carts. Some customers the added dollars puts them over budget that they dont have and that is where creative thinking comes in. In no way am I being deciving but I always offered a 1 year warranty on all the carts that I sold. Plus the cost of trojan T-105's is a bit more than couple hundered dollars.
Plus look at the cost of the cart, I will basically sell this cart for 20-30% less. Thats alot cheaper than 4-5K+. |

Re: 2005 Lifted EZGO $3400 obo
heres my math
trojans t105's for 6 is $600.00 they last 5 to 6 years referbs half price $300.00 last maybe 2 years then you have to spend another $300.00 now you have $600.00 invested for 4 years of battery life... i think i have only seen 1 set of cheap batteries last for 5 years and scotty is proof of that cause he seviced it not too long ago and it was a refurb cart from ezgo... but that dosent happen very often |

Re: 2005 Lifted EZGO $3400 obo
Please Delete this Thread, it is causing way to much contraversy and that is not my intentions. Even though I am no longer a dealer. I just want to appologize if I have stirred the pot.
