Plowmans hot setup question
I have a Yamaha g16 that I’m thinking about giving the hot setup. It already will do 25 mph at 3200 rpm . The motor only haves 20 hours on it . The question is really about the air box mod . I drive half on the highway and dirt roads . Would i have to take the air filter and clean it after every dirt road run with the air box mod ? Also , would it make a difference with the high flow filter if I didn’t mod the box ? I’m asking from y’all that have the same situation , thanks

Re: Plowmans hot setup question
The best thing you could do is call Don Plowman. He'll tell you everything you need to know, and then some.

Re: Plowmans hot setup question
With the bored out carb, the air box mod is necessary. The filter will get dirty even without the mods.

Re: Plowmans hot setup question
Dave , I clean the filter out regularly. I just want to know if I would be cleaning the filter out monthly or daily if I did the mod cruising dirt roads .
