I know it is just me being too careful and the chances are low for an explosion, but I don't like sparks around hydrogen gas...Been there..Whatever works for you...

Thanks for the tip. Next time I do something with the batteries I’ll do that. And yes the cart was in tow mode when I was replacing the cables. Thanks all

No H2 on my cart - Lithium cells. :-) Having a Pre-charge resistor isn't a bad idea - especially if you are making that connection often. I just clinch and connect. But I always unplug my voltage converter power lead at the fuse before connecting my battery. That way the spark is at the fuse and I know for sure that it's just the converter doing it's charging thing.
