Tires and wheel question

I bought a 04 club car, 6" lift, rear seat, with 22x11x8 tires. The cart rides fine, but when driving sideways on inclines it feels a little unstable. I was wondering if going to 22x11x10 wheel and tire would help? Thanks

I would try to not drive sideways. I am pretty sure that going to a bigger rim wont fix that. I could be wrong though, it has been know to happen.

That's pretty clever, its not upside down but they are reversible like 69.

It would help a little but at that point of breaking on the narrower one won't be far away on the wider one.
If your wheels are presently centered you could go with a 2" offset rim (3x5) and a 2" spacer would widen your stance by 3" on ea side.

If you don't need the narrow stance some of the longtravel lifts widen the stance quite a bit.

i think it is gonna feel unstable no matter the rim size. a larger rim will always give a stiffer ride/ with less tire flex. ever seen a 44 inch truck tire roll on a big truck? you could always have someone else drive it and look to see if the tire is rolling to the side of the rim while you drive. i woul dthink a wider stance would be the way to go if you must traverse inclines.

If I'm understanding what type of tires you have on your cart. They are what we here in Indiana refer to as balloon tires. The last number represents the hight of your rims. You put bigger tires on stock rims?? If that is so I would venture to say that a different combo would add some stability to your cart. Buddy of mine has A Arm 4" lift with heavey duty rear springs and 23x10.5x12 and it rides great.

It sounds like, all that is needed are some wheel spacers to widen the track. Oxfordlawn, I believe that when snowmonkey says that he is driving sideways on inclines, they do not mean actually driving sideways, but traversing a vertical incline horizontally, being perpendicular to it. By traversing the incline with a small track it might cause the cart to feel a bit unstable. This should provide information on wheel spacers.

Thanks guys. I should have used my words more carefully (drive sideways). When running parallel to slight inclines it feels a little unstable. The rims are offset with the 22x11x8. So this helps some. I am going to try the 2" spacers on ebay 4 ea. for $147 . I think this will help and will report back when I get them installed. Thanks again.
